OBJECTIVE

 

To provide good quality modern education, including a strong component of culture, inculcation of values, awareness of environment, adventure activities and physical education.

  SALIENT FEATURES

  • JNVST admission on the basis of Merit

Navodaya Vidyalayas draw their strength from talented children, selected on the basis of merit test, called the Jawahar Navodaya Selection Test, designed, developed and conducted by NCERT initially now, by the CBSE. The test is held annually on All India basis at block and district levels. It is objective, culture-free class neutral and is so designed as to ensure that rural children are not at a disadvantage.

  • Reservation for Rural, S.C., S.T. and Girl Students

Admission is predominantly for children from the rural areas, with a provision of 75%. Reservation seats are reserved fro children from the SC and ST communities in proportion to their population in the district but not less that the national average. 1/3rd of the seats are for girl students. 3% of the seats are for disabled children.

                                                                               

Navodaya Vidyalayas offer free education from Class- VI to Classes XII and are affiliated to the CBSE. Entry to a Navodaya Vidyalaya is in Class-VI only. Each Navodaya Vidyalaya is a co-educational residential institution providing free of charge amenities like boarding and lodging, expenses on uniforms, text books, stationery, to and fro rail and bus fare.

The Regional Language is generally the medium of instruction from Class VI to VIII and from IXth class onwards it is English/ Hindi.

Navodaya Vidyalayas aim at inculcating values of national integration through special programmes of migration which is scheme of inter regional exchange of students for one academic year between Hindi and Non-Hindi speaking states and vice-versa. Efforts are made to promote understanding of the diversity and plurality of Indian people & cultural heritage through activities that promote national integration.

Navodaya Vidyalayas are located as far as possible in rural areas. The State Govt. is to offer cost free land and rent free temporary buildings for the setting up of Navodaya Vidyalaya.

Board Results of Navodaya Vidyalayas students compare favorably with their counterparts, Navodaya Vidyalayas have been conceived as on idea, a progressive forward looking concept making modern India and the area of focal development through educational excellence. Board Results of Navodaya Vidyalaya students have been much higher than the national pass percentage averages achieved by the CBSE affiliated schools.

Established in 1987. Co-educational residential schools fully financed by Govt. of India through an autonomous organization, Navodaya Vidyalaya samiti.

  • Subjects offered from VI to IX : English, Kannada, Hindi, Science & Maths.

  • Subject for X : English, Hindi/Kannada, Maths, Science & Social Science.

  • XI Science Stream subjects offered : English, Maths/Hindi, Physics, Chemistry & Biology, Computer Science

  • XI Humanities Stream subjects offered : English, Hindi, Economics, Geography & History.

  • XI- Vocational Course- Hotel Management and Catering Technology

  • XII Science Stream subjects offered : English, Maths/Hindi, Physics, Chemistry & Biology.

  • The school is affiliated to CBSE and the affiliation No. is 32501.

  • Children are admitted only at Class VI level through an all India level selection test (JNVST) conducted by CBSE New Delhi in the month 

  • of February every year.

  • Major Activities : Co-curricular activities and sports and games are held at school level and Inter-school level throughout the academic year. Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti also conducts Cluster level and Regional level Science Exhibitions and sports and games meet every year.

 

  • Major Achievements:

Most of the students passed out from this vidyalaya are getting admission in professional courses, eg Medical, Engg, Air Force, Navy, Railway, Research Scholar, Charter Accountant etc.

 

  • Future Plans of the department :

    • We are conducting Computer Education Prgoramme for neighborhood school each year in  and CLP, CEP will be continued for the same.

    • 24 Hours Internet facility will be made available for students and staff for educational and conceptual growth.

    • With better and well equipped lab facilities, it is planned to kindle the scientific attitude of the children.

    • School level and Inter school level group discussions, interactions and seminars will be organized in order to ensure overall development of the children.

    • Counseling will be provided to the children who pass class X & XII.

    • Literacy programmes will be held in the locality.

    • Vidyalaya Library Books will be made available to the public.

     

  • Further Details:

  • Normally the advertisement for Jawahar Navodya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) is published in the month of October every year. 

  • Advertisement will appear in leading  newspapers in all languages. besides, very wide publicity will also be given through All India Radio and Door Darshan.

  • The test is held in Sunday, February every year. The result of the JNVST is expected to be announced around June. The result will be displayed in the office  of the  concerned.

  • Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, District Education Officer, District Magistrate and Deputy Director, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti regional office, Patna Region.

  • The selected candidate will also be informed through registered post by the Principal, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya concerned.
